Atlantic City Is The Cool Place To Be This September

With The Platinum Snowboarding Rail Jam


(Atlantic City, NJ, July 27, 2004) – Snow in September? That’s not the only thing in the forecast as professional and amateur snowboarders converge on Atlantic City for the Platinum Snowboarding Rail Jam on Tuesday, September 14, 2004.

The demonstration will take place on the steps of the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort, located at 1000 Boardwalk at Virginia Avenue, with participants beginning near Casbah nightclub’s outside VIP lounge, Star Bar, and descending the steps to the Boardwalk. The competition is from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Snow Magic, a snow making company out of New Hampshire will produce the snow and then transport two truckloads of it to Atlantic City. The rail department at Mountain Creek Resort in Northern New Jersey will produce the rail.

The Platinum Snowboarding Rail Jam is taking place in conjunction with the Rip Curl Dan Heritage Memorial Professional Surfing Event happening in front of the Taj Mahal Casino Resort on Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Sanctioned by the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP), it’s a Three Star World-Qualifying Series Event for the World Championship Tour.

Also taking place September 16 through September 19 is the Red Bull Half-Pipe Skate Board Demonstration from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. on the beach in front of Trump Taj Mahal. Professional skaters will demonstrate their moves in a half-pipe on the beach in Atlantic City.
