BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS TODAY INTO TONIGHT

ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE HAS SETTLED INTO THE REGION. AS A RESULT, VERY
COLD TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND THROUGH FRIDAY. WITH THE HIGH
PRESSURE SYSTEM TO OUR WEST AND DEPARTING LOW PRESSURE EAST OF NEW
ENGLAND, COLD NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE TODAY, AVERAGING 10 TO
20 MPH WITH SOME LOCALLY HIGHER GUSTS AT TIMES. THESE WINDS WILL
DIMINISH SOME THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT. HOWEVER, THE COMBINATION OF
THE VERY COLD TEMPERATURES AND BRISK WINDS, WILL CREATE BITTERLY
COLD WIND CHILL VALUES INTO TONIGHT. WIND CHILL VALUES WILL RANGE
FROM 10 BELOW ZERO TO 5 ABOVE ZERO ACROSS THE REGION TODAY INTO
TONIGHT. IF YOU NEED TO BE OUTSIDE TODAY AND TONIGHT, WEAR LAYERS OF
CLOTHING, GLOVES OR MITTENS, AND A HAT TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE
BITTER COLD.

PLEASE BE SURE THAT ANY PETS ARE NOT KEPT OUTDOORS FOR ANY LENGTH OF
TIME. IF PETS NEED TO BE KEPT OUTDOORS, MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ACCESS
TO A WELL INSULATED SHELTER PROTECTED FROM THE WIND AND PLENTY OF
UNFROZEN WATER.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO, THE OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE, OR YOUR LOCAL MEDIA OUTLET FOR ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION ON THIS BITTERLY COLD AIR.
