The latest movement from our old friends of the liberal elite, old media, is to blame the Bloggers for the campaign of misinformation involving the phony exit polls used on election day.
For purposes of background, Bloggers are individuals and web sites whom involve themselves in posting thoughts, ideas and issues on the internet. (Web Loggers, shortened in slang to: "Bloggers")
These are the same individuals who were described by the liberal elite media as publishers in their pajamas, working from home!
The truth of the matter is, the Bloggers are the ones who immediately exposed Dan Rather, when he attempted to use phony, forged military documents to try and bring down the President of the United States.
It is interesting to note that Rather, never even once, tried to obtain real military records for an attempt to bring down Democrat challenger John Kerry.
But, without the Bloggers, who knows how far 60 Minutes and Dan Rather would have gotten with the MemoGate scandal?
Now, it becomes obvious that the liberal elite media is so threatened with the new technology of the internet, web publishing and the now dreaded Bloggers, that they are attempting to make Blogger a bad word. I guess they are trying much in the same way Ronald Reagan made liberal a bad word. Except in Reagan's case, he was right.
For the record, Blogger is a good word, and thank God they have arrived to counter-balance the bias of this liberal 4th estate.
But, let's get back to the blame for Bloggers. The liberal media all conspired together, (ABC, CBS, NBC, AP, CNN), with Fox News, (of all companies), to create a consortium. It was within this consortium that exit-polls for use on election day were created. Then, at the right moment, these exit polls, which were never intended to be released publicly, were leaked on the internet to the web's most visited site.
This intentional leak had the same effect of spreading a deadly germ of pessimism and panic amongst conservative circles, when the false reports indicated the demise of President George W. Bush. The reports of his demise were, of course, premature.
I later learned that even the top republican official working for President Bush in Ohio, had given up on the campaign at 7:00 PM, EST, before the polls had even closed!
So here we had an entire day of election, being affected in whatever way it was, by intentionally false exit-polling data. This data was leaked by the liberal elite media through the information super highway, allowing this same media to now blame the Bloggers for the mess.
There is real proof that the Bloggers are not to blame. It was the liberal elite media that utililized this bogus exit-polling data to shape their entire coverage before, during and after the election polls closed. Remember the looks of bewilderment and genuine dissappointment upon all of their faces when the real results were unfolding before their eyes?
Try and recall how the nightly news broadcasts began on election evening. All of the liberal stars were basking in what they believed was a certain victory for their boy, Quick John Kerry. (By the way, I did not create the name Quick John for Kerry. The guys on the Swift Boats, who knew him best fondly refer to him as that, for his ability to extricate himself from fire in a hurry!)
Back to the broadcasters, who do not wear pajamas while they work. They all began to prepare a nation for the coronation of King John Kerry. This was all occurring before a single real vote was counted. What our friends in the old media were unreliably counting on though, was their own coveted exit-polls.
What the old media friend had forgotten, was that the early exit-polls manufactured for use against Bush in the year 2000 were all wrong. Had it never occurred to them that these 2004 exit-polls were phony too?
I recall the old media said back in the year 2000 that they would never do this again. But the truth is, they did it even worse this time. They intentionally leaked this phony data in an effort to create a false impression in hopes of demoralizing Bush supporters, (there is now evidence that this worked to some extent), and creating a wave for Kerry at the same time, (this did not work).
It is my view that these networks colluded with one another in this effort, (including Fox News who refused to denounce these tactics and also refused to call the election for President Bush when he was the obvious winner).
I believe this is all worthy of scrutiny and investigation. It is my hope, regardless that the outcome of the election went in a way they did not intend, that some agency will look into this matter for appropriate action.
However, please don't allow anyone to pass the blame onto the Bloggers. Given the track record of the liberal elite media in this campaign, I'll take the real publishers in their pajamas any day.
